I have purchased the print or ebook version of KiCad Like a Pro. How do I access the KiCad forum?

At the moment, we don’t have an automated way to give you access to the KiCad forum, unless you are a student of the video course.

However, you still can access the KiCad Forum, and it is simple:

If you have purchased the ebook or print versions of KiCad Like a Pro, please raise a support ticket to request access to the KiCad forum.

Please watch this video for more details.

I have a problem in my personal project. Can you help me?

Unfortunately, we can’t provide consultancy for personal or work related projects.

Our Help Desk is meant to help our students in the context of their study, or for people making enquiries about our courses.

However, if you are a member of our Makers Club, you are welcome to discuss anything related to technology, personal or work projects, and, of course, science.

Badges and recognising your progress

Learning is an active process of acquiring new skills.

Learning should leave a trail of evidence behind. This trail could consist of things that you have made (gadgets, sketches), documents (notes in your notebook, blog posts etc), forum conversations.

Another great way to create a learning trail is through the collection of badges.

If you are enrolled to a course on the Tech Explorations website, you will earn badges when you complete specific achievements. Think of an achievement as an activity that relates to your learning process. Here’s some examples:

  1. Complete a lecture
  2. Complete a section
  3. Complete a quiz with a score over 90%
  4. Complete a quiz with a perfect score: 100%
  5. Post a reply to a forum topic
  6. Complete a Learn by Doing activity

We are constantly reviewing and updating the kind of achievements that can earn you badges.

With every badge, you will also earn the associated achievement points. These points are added to your current total.

To collect badges, just complete lectures, sections, quizzes, and participate in forum discussions.

You can see your current totals in your profile page. To get to your profile page, click on your avatar icon on the top right side of the top navigation bar.
In addition to the above, when you complete a full course, you will earn a special Course Completed badge. This badge will be send to your Credly account, where you can collect badges from various activities across the Internet. This way, you can have the equivalent of a school certificate outside of Tech Explorations. You also have the option to share these badges with anyone on the Internet.
