While compiling the sketch for 09-010 received error message for line 150

    “void printDateTime(const RtcDateTime& dt)”

message: ‘RtcDateTime’ does not name a type.

As far as I could determine the sketch is the same as the one you used in demonstration.

Why did I get an error and you did not?

    Hi Steve,

I downloaded the sketch from the lecture (on Github) and installed the library to my Arduino IDE.

I compiled with no issues, and was also able to upload the sketch to my ESP32.

The code from line 150 as you copy it here looks correct, so I suspect the you have not installed properly (or not at all) the RtcDS3231 library.

This library is not in the Arduino IDE repository, so you will need to install it by downloading the ZIP from Github (link is above), and then install it by going to Arduino IDE –> Sketch –> Include Library –> Add .ZIP Library.

Please let us know how this goes.

I removed rtc from library then downloaded it again, then installed it. Checked my copy of sketch with copy you supplied. Then compiled it. It compiled.

    Grinningthank you Carmen
